It shore is hot down in GA this time of year!  Our company is currently putting up two original cabins from PA down in the South.  We arrived after 14 hours of travel to a foundation.  After re-erecting the cabins, along with replacing two of the sill logs, the building was made as plumb and square as two 200 year old buildings can be made.    

Chinking the buildings both inside and out really makes a difference in the appearance.  We use masonry wire, an inert foam in between the logs for a great seal and insulation.  Then repeat the process.   A local carpenter will do the finish work inside.

Some of the results of our labor after 23 long hot days.  Well worth the effort.  The two hand crafted poplar doors are hung with hand-forged strap hinges. We will head back once the shake roof is installed.  Then it's on to building the fireplaces!

Pennsylvania

One of our current projects that has been ongoing is the restoration of a small cabin in New Berlin, PA.  This little ugly duckling has it share of problems but with some major tender loving care it will once again be a swan.  We are currrently adding a timbered log addition for added living space and to hold some of the necessary creature comforts.  

The roof is being installed on this project while we are in GA re-erecting two log cabins.  The exterior chinking and stone infill has been completed, we will post more pics later. 

 Entiere building will be a new roof and the front will have a cute double porch.

 Timbered log addition on back will be half stone with a fireplace.

A new set of french doors will be added along with a hand cut fireplace on the back.
