"A historic mill is getting a new lease on life"   as quoted by Holly Claycomb of the Bedford Gazette.   The article was written on the Historic Wyant Mill near town of same name.  Stones were used in a cabin foundation and fireplace as well as the foundation for a restoration project at the Bedford Springs Hotel, Bedford PA.    The mill built in 1806 has seen years of decline and lost  battle to the elements when in 2003 an suv hit the corner .  Although still realtively stable with rain washing down the hillside and lying between the stones the mill begain crumbling.   Because the mill sits righ along the road the ownrs were left wondering what to do.    Village Restorations began the cumbersome and sometimes dangerous process of taking down the mill while still trying to salvage teh lare octoginal timbers.  The summer beams mesure over 40 feet long with 22 inch faces.  "fabulous workmanship" says Roland Cadle owner and chief restoration /preservationsit of Village Restorations.   (check back for photos).
